Casual Support Workers Wanted!

Are you someone who enjoys working one on one with people assisting them to remain in their own home, being as independent as possible, and being involved in the community?

Are you currently working in the industry and looking for more hours?

We are seeking caring, compassionate, skilled support workers to join our team for a start date in the first quarter of 2020 and an immediate start in the Launceston area.

The following skills and attributes are required:

· Certificate 3 or 4 in Disability/Aged Care (essential)

· Current Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People (Children) registration

· Smart phone

· Valid Driver's Licence

· Late model, reliable vehicle, with insurances

· Current First Aid Certificate

· Willingness and skills to work compassionately with people from possibly different and diverse backgrounds, in a client's own home

· A desire and focus to help clients with a disability would be highly regarded

· The right to live and work in Australia is mandatory

Are you energetic, qualified & want to work 10 hours a week supporting our young clients, including daily school pick up and drop offs?

Community Care TASMANIA is a local, award winning organisation which provides home care services to aged and people with a disability, and has been operating in Tasmania for 30 years.

Due to continued business growth in the south, we are urgently seeking suitably qualified and enthusiastic workers to support our clients, and in particular young clients who are living with a disability.

Initially the role will assist our clients who need support getting ready for and then travelling to and from school each day. Weekend and school holiday support may also be required of the successful candidates. The successful person may also have the opportunity to work additional shifts as relief for other members of the team.

Please note: Our current clients frequently have a preference for female support workers.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following attributes and skills;

  • Very strong initiative with a flexible and sensible approach when working with clients
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt your approach to suit a range of clients with different needs

It is essential that you can provide evidence you have the following;

  • Certificate 3 Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
  • National Police Check issued within the last 6 months
  • Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration
  • Tasmanian Drivers Licence
  • Registered, reliable and suitably insured car
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module (Certificate of Completion)
  • 100 Points of ID (incl Passport, Birth Cert)
  • For non-citizens, suitable Visa to work and live in Australia
