Community Care TASMANIA (CCT) is a state-wide local not-for-profit home care service provider which provides assistance to support older and disabled Tasmanian’s to remain living within their own homes across Tasmania.

About the role

While providing practical assistance and promoting and maintaining the client’s independence and quality of life, you will:

  • Perform gardening and minor maintenance duties in accordance with client needs
  • The experience and physical ability to operate a lawn mower, whipper snipper, blower etc
  • Provide companionship while performing duties
  • Provide feedback about significant changes to the client’s circumstances to the Case Manager/Coordinator
  • Document and record all required information
  • Employees in this level are called upon to use some originality in approach with solutions usually attributable to application of previously encountered procedures and practices
  • Ensure that all equipment used is in safe working order and report any equipment faults immediately
  • Maintain effective communication with the client, their carers, the Case Manager/Coordinator and other relevant personnel
  • Participate in staff development and training activities
  • Practice safe working practices within WHS requirements

What you will bring

  • Previous experience in a gardening and maintenance role
  • The ability to work independently to achieve goals within set time frames
  • Excellent reliability, honesty and high integrity to ensure an efficient service to our valued clients
  • An awareness of and sensitivity towards the needs of Community Care TASMANIA clients
  • Ability to cooperate and communicate with other agency personnel to ensure effective coordination of client care
  • Good oral communication skills to communicate with clients, members of the public and other employees
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and accreditation requirements
  • The ability to be flexible to work a varied roster in accordance with client needs

What you need

  • Current National Police Check
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (NDIS Worker Screening)
  • Current Tasmanian Driver’s Licence
  • The Right to Work in Australia
  • Covid Vaccination
