Home Support Workers (Aged & NDIS) - multiple positions and locations

Community Care TASMANIA (CCT) is a state-wide local not-for-profit home care service provider which provides assistance to support older and disabled Tasmanian’s to remain living within their own homes across Tasmania.

We currently have exciting employment opportunities for experienced Casual Support Workers to join our growing CCT Team in Launceston and surrounding areas. (Please note we also have vacancies in Hobart, West Coast, North West Coast and East Coast).

Hours

We offer great flexibility with our working hours, however workers who have availability - 7am to 3pm and 2pm to 8pm would be highly considered due to our growing demand.

About the role/s

You will be required to provide personalised, 1:1 Home Care support to our clients accessing our Aged Care or NDIS Services within your area. Our cleaning team (domestic assistance) work solely to provide professional cleaning assistance. Our valued clients in these programs may be receiving either short term or ongoing care, during which time you will support them to remain in their own homes by assisting with improving their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake personal care and daily hygiene duties (such as showering) as well as domestic duties such as meal preparation, cleaning and washing
  • Assist with domestic tasks – light housework
  • Support clients in attending appointments and social activities within the community
  • Maintain and monitor a client’s health and behaviour changes on an ongoing basis
  • Provide where required, short term respite (in homecare, activities and outings)
  • Build rapport and collaborate effectively with clients to establish positive relationships

You may be required to travel to multiple client’s homes within your region throughout the day, therefore having access to a reliable vehicle that you can use for work purposes is essential this position. We do provide a travel allowance where applicable.

What will you need

  • Current National Police Check
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (NDIS Worker Screening)
  • Current Tasmanian Driver’s License
  • Workers Orientation Module (NDIS)
  • The Right to Work in Australia
  • Covid Vaccination (full vaccinated including booster)
  • Certificate III in (Aged Care) an advantage
  • Certificate III in (Individual Support) is desirable, not essential
  • A reliable car with full vehicle insurance
  • An understanding of how to follow client support plans and complete client documentation
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to develop positive relationships with clients, their families and other stakeholders.
