Community Visitors Scheme

This highly valued service sees our volunteer team regularly visit people living in aged care residences across Northern Tasmania. Our volunteers provide companionship whilst dealing with individual needs.

Over the last few years our CVS volunteers have collectively made thousands of visits to nearly 100 people.

Highly valued and rewarding are words best used to describe this partnership between Community Care TASMANIA volunteers and those who reside in aged care facilities rather than their own homes.

Becoming part of this scheme is a wonderful way you can support our community services. Why people volunteer varies considerably but the common thread is the desire to give something back to those in our community who have contributed so much. Bringing joy is a simple but immeasurable benefit for both volunteer and the aged. To read more about this program click on the CVS brochure and newsletters on the right of this page.

Community Care TASMANIA values the work of our volunteers. As such we provide on-going training and support as well as lots of opportunities to get together in a relaxed social setting. These are invaluable for sharing experiences and exploring how both parties can benefit from regular visits.

To get involved in the Community Visitors Scheme please contact Susan Aykut or contact Community Care TASMANIA.
